The DFJ for Cumbria is committed to the adoption and implementation of the Public Law Outline (PLO) in Cumbria to achieve the aim of proceedings pursuant to Part IV of the Children Act 1989 being completed in accordance with the statutory time limit of 26 weeks.
On 30th November 2022 The President of the Family Division issued his latest 'View' which is called "The PLO Relaunch". On this page you will also find other reference materials and tutorial videos.
On 16th November 2023 Mr Justice MacDonald, issued a Northern Circuit Local Practice Direction setting out the approach to ensuring adherence to the PLO. Unless otherwise stated in an order, the courts in Cumbria will follow the Practice Direction. Further information about local practice directions is available from the link below.
